Study on Tillage, Organic and Inorganic Nutrient Sources: A Short-term Agronomic and Economic Analysis of Soybean (Glycine max L.) under Sub Humid Agro-climatic Conditions

Background: Tillage systems such as zero tillage and minimum or reduced leave more crop residues offer greater protection to soil erosion. Besides appropriate selection of practices, the improvement in average yield per hectare can be achieved by maintaining fertility through proper rate mode application fertilizers. Inorganic organic sources nutrients have potential reversing declining soil-health productivity correcting marginal deficiencies secondary micro-nutrients, micro-flora fauna their beneficial influence on physical biological properties soil. Methods: Experiment was laid out for two years (2020 2021) at Experimental Farm, Department Agronomy, CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur. There were twelve treatment combinations comprising three practices (zero tillage, conventional tillage) four inorganic nutrient (75 100% recommended dose nitrogen FYM 75 fertilizer urea, single super phosphate muriate potash) which tested split plot design with main plots different sub plots. Result: Among adapted, recorded higher yield, uptake, protein content, oil content economics soybean, whereas among tested, use 100 cent fertilizers provided highest profitability soybean under mustard-soybean cropping system.
